Drug Interactions
This medicine may interact with lithium (usually given for manic depressive disorder, also called bipolar disorder), tacrolimus or cyclosporin (used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema, and to prevent rejection after organ transplantation), tricyclic antidepressents, trimethoprin, antivirals, erythromycn and alpha blockers.
Indication
Eplerenone is used to treat your heart failure to prevent worsening and reduce hospitalisations if you have had a recent heart attack, in combination with other drugs that are used to treat your heart failure, or have persistent, mild symptoms despite the treatment you have been receiving so far.
When not to Use
In case of renal or hepatic insufficiency or hypersensitivity to the ingredients listed in product.
Epliron Tablets Warnings
Warning 1
You may feel dizzy after taking Eplerenone tablets. If this should happen, do not drive or operate machinery.
Warning 2
Blood potassium levels should be measured before starting Eplerenone tablets therapy.
Warning 3
Eplerenone tablet contains lactose monohydrate (a type of sugar). If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
